About the event

From Indiana Jones to London to Newport

Newport, Oregon: National Theatre Live, the award-winning program that brings the best of British theater to screens around the world, brings actor Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny) to the big screen at Newport Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, August 16th at 7 pm with a live-filmed recording of her play, Fleabag.

Audiences around the world have flocked to this cheeky, rip-roaring comedy about some sort of woman living her sort-of life. While Fleabag may seem oversexed, emotionally unfiltered, and self-obsessed, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. With family and friendships under strain and a guinea pig café struggling to keep afloat, Fleabag suddenly finds herself with nothing to lose.

A hilarious, award-winning play that inspired BBC’s hit television series of the same name, Fleabag is written and performed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Killing Eve, Fleabag, Indiana Jones) and directed by Vicky Jones. The production was captured live on stage from London’s West End in 2019.

Tickets for this one-night screening range from $15-$20 when purchased in person or by phone, with additional fees for online sales. Call 541-265-2787, visit www.coastarts.org/events/ntlive-fleabag, or stop by the Newport Performing Arts Center box office at 777 W Olive Street.
