RESEARCH EXHIBITS - OPEN ALL-DAY- Over two dozen Hatfield-based scientists
- Hands-on and interactive; perfect for families, lifelong learners
- The Visitor Center is open all day and free
- 10:30 & 11 a.m.: Hatfield's Seawater System - 30 minutes
- 11 a.m.: Yaquina Estuary Trail - 1 hour
- 11 a.m.: Vertical tsunami evacuation at the Gladys Valley Marine Studies Building - 30 minutes *Tours are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis
- 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.: Ann Vileisis, author of Abalone The Remarkable History and Uncertain Future of California's Iconic Shellfish
- 1 - 2:00 p.m.: Dr. Sarah Gravem, Connecting our community above to the community below: recent changes in our kelp forest and rocky intertidal ecosystems in Oregon and beyond. Sarah Gavem is a marine ecologist that works at the intersection of community and behavioral ecology. She is a Research Associate in the PISCO group (Partnership for Interdisciplinary Studies of Coastal Oceans) at Oregon State University.
