The uncertainty principle tells us that nothing in the universe is on a definite path, so who can predict what brings people together? A surprising, funny and moving story unfolds when a woman from New Jersey kisses an aging Irish butcher. The only certainty is that their paths and their lives will never be the same again.

Simon Stephens has enthralled and surprised audiences worldwide with productions that included: BIRDLAND, THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME, and the Tony Award Nominated HEISENBERG. Stephens has also worked with children’s theatre for more than 25 years and is a prolific writer for British television.

Director Marc Maislen’s perspective on Heisenberg is, “It is a story so compelling and imaginative that it shows us a heart-felt love; a love that overcomes our individual scars which had prevented us from being happy. I immediately knew I needed to bring this play to the Newport Performing Arts Center.”

Pete Theodore and Sherron Watson star in Heisenberg, directed by Marc Maislen. The Tony Award Best Play nomination, written by Simon Stephens, comes to the Newport stage October 14th – 30th.
