The show runs, Nov. 17, 18, 24, 25, Dec. 1, & 2 at 7:00 p.m. and Nov. 19, 26 & Dec. 3 at 2:00 p.m. for Sunday matinees

Matilda the Musical is based on the 1988 novel Matilda by Roald Dahl. Matilda Wormwood, a precocious five-year-old girl with the gift of telekinesis, who loves reading, overcomes obstacles caused by her family and school and helps her teacher reclaim her life. Standing in her way, is the evil headmistress of the school, Miss Trunchbull. The story does have a happy ending and Matilda learns many lessons along the way with her classmates.
Genre – Dark comedy.
Matilda the Musical plays for 3 weekends at the Alice Silverman at the Newport Performing Arts Center.
