About the event

Join Shifting Tides during Seaweed Weekend hosted by Pacific Heritage Maritime Museum! Alanna Kieffer, marine biologist, seaweed farmer, and forager, is taking advantage of these incredible low tides during this special weekend and offering a chance to explore rocky shores and learn how to identify wild seaweeds. This workshop will go over general oceanography, and intertidal ecology, with a focus on the identification of wild seaweeds. The Pacific Northwest is home to some of the most biodiverse intertidal systems, and more kelp species than anywhere else on Earth. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore with an educator during one of the lowest tides of the year.
