Oregon Sea Grant and the Oregon State University Extension Service are offering free tours of the commercial fishing docks in Newport again this summer. Come learn about the different types of fishing boats, how they catch seafood, and how to buy high-quality seafood.

About the event
Oregon Sea Grant and the Oregon State University Extension Service are offering free tours of the commercial fishing docks in Newport again this summer. Come learn about the different types of fishing boats, how they catch seafood, and how to buy high-quality seafood.
Tours start at 9:30 a.m., 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. They run 60-90 minutes and are on a first-come, first-served basis. Please meet on the sidewalk by Port Dock 5.
Contact us ahead of time if you are a group of five or more. Tours may be possible at additional times for larger groups. Arrive early to find parking.
People interested in purchasing seafood should bring cash and a cooler with ice. Comfortable shoes with good traction are a must as you will be walking a long distance.
