Each year, Newport comes together to celebrate Loyalty Days, a long-standing coastal tradition honoring service, community pride, and the spirit of the Oregon Coast. Held annually the first weekend of May, this multi-day event brings locals and visitors together for a full lineup of meaningful moments and family-friendly fun.

What to Expect

A Parade Through the Heart of Newport

The Loyalty Days Parade is the centerpiece of the weekend, bringing the community together along Highway 101 with floats, local organizations, and tributes to veterans and service members.

Meet your Loyalty Days Parade Grand Marshal

Retired Army National Guard Command Sergeant Major Scott Stimpson

Stimpson served more than 25 years in recruiting and retention, personally enlisting nearly 250 soldiers and mentoring more than 10,000 throughout his career. He was named the Army National Guard’s 2014 NCO of the Year and now serves as Executive Vice President of Operations for the Association of the United States Army 6th Region.
